Welcome to Homer Presbyterian Church

Founded in 1827, Homer exists to see people become committed followers of Jesus Christ. We would love to have you join us. We are part of the Homer-Hebron Parish Ministry.

Sunday Services

We worship every Sunday at 11 AM in our sanctuary. Our services are rooted in the Presbyterian tradition and consist of singing, prayers, scripture reading, and a sermon. We celebrate Holy Communion on First Sunday.

Our Services are also shared via Zoom. You can join us virtually at the following link: Homer Online Worship. Please contact us or check our Facebook Page for login information.

Mom’s Morning Out

MMO is a weekly program that is open to children from our community. We strive to provide safe, quality childcare in a Christian environment. This allows mothers (or fathers) to run errands, get things done around the house, or just take a break twice a week. We hold this every Wednesday 9 AM-12 PM. Ages infant to 6 years old are welcome. $10 per child

Prayer Stop

We maintain a prayer room that it open to the community every day of the week, from sunrise to sunset. On the porch of the church, you will see a side door labeled ‘Prayer Stop Room.’ Check it out and stay as long as you would like. There is a box where you can leave prayer requests and praises.

History

Homer Presbyterian has its roots in the Carmel Presbyterian Church that was organized April 5th, 1810. However, the official beginning of the Church in Homer was when New Lebanon Presbyterian Church was orgainzed May 12, 1827. In 1884 the first Sunday School of the church was formed. The current sanctuary was built in 1860 and dedicated on August 25th of that year. The congregation then officially changed their name to Homer Presbyterian Church on October 13th, 1866. In 1974 the current steeple was installed.
